Karen Roberts brings over thirty years of expertise in organizational development and strategic planning to the table. Her consulting practice is dedicated to guiding industries in creating and implementing effective strategic planning methodologies, with a specialized focus on Hoshin Kanri and Quality Function Deployment. Her extensive corporate background equips her with the knowledge and skills to drive transformative, positive change in organizations, consistently striving to identify and apply the most effective strategies for excellence.
Her diverse experience and broad perspective have made her a highly sought-after advisor nationwide. Karen’s recent engagements include facilitating organizational effectiveness teams for distinguished organizations such as NASA, Windsor Industries, McDonald Douglas, Emerson Electric, and Johnson & Johnson Medical. She has also conducted strategic planning sessions for the Department of the Interior and provided leadership training, strategic planning, and group development for executive teams at renowned companies including DuPont, Amgen, Microsoft, Manac Trailers, Exabyte, Johnson & Johnson, Clorox, Methode Electronics, Nissan, and Roche Chemicals.
In addition to her extensive consulting work, Karen has enriched the academic community as a former adjunct faculty member at Regis University, where she taught courses on “Measuring the Effectiveness of Organizations” for the American Society for Training & Development. Trained by Dr. Yogi Akao, the renowned creator of Hoshin Kanri, she holds an MBA as well as an MA in Organizational Communication from the University of New Mexico.
In the 1990s, Karen had the privilege of participating in workshops led by Yogi Akao, the pioneering creator of QFD (Quality Function Deployment). These sessions provided her with invaluable insights, culminating in the development of a structured methodology for integrating product design principles into strategic planning processes.
